Webinar Summary
Across the country, infrastructure owners and managers are confronting a new reality: increased extreme weather events, aging assets and rising demand for reliability. The nation’s most innovative owners are now blending climate resilience strategies with cutting-edge engineering to create stormwater infrastructure that overcomes these challenges. This webinar will explore how an integrated approach between climate resilience and civil engineering helps public and private agencies future-proof infrastructure. Key topics will include:
- Using climate projection models to anticipate rainfall intensities, drought cycles and hydrologic extremes
- Vulnerability and risk assessment best practices
- Leveraging these climate insights to inform engineering design standards for more resilient water systems
- Nature-based solutions to complement gray infrastructure and reduce long-term maintenance costs
Engineers, program managers and watershed districts will learn actionable strategies to rethink infrastructure through a resilience lens to help safeguard communities, reduce risk and maximize investment.
