Webinar Summary

The South Pole Station, under the direction of the National Science Foundation, is home to science projects unlike any in the world. Since its inception in 1982 by presidential memorandum, the station has grown without a master plan. This session chronicles the process in developing the first South Pole Station Master Plan for the next 35- to 50 years. This presentation will show how the master planning process interacts between various stakeholders, federal agencies, and a unique climate and location to balance the realities of budget, scientific advancement and engineering challenges.
