Webinar Summary
On December 30, 2021, a fire destroyed over 1,000 homes and damaged another 1,000 in Boulder County. Rebuilding required local, state, and national resources. It also required a focus on assisting those who did not have the resources to rebuild on their own. To support this effort, an interactive platform was required to visually identify where the houses were located that required assistance. Resilient Analytics created a GIS interface that conveyed the socio-economic conditions of each parcel, the conditions after the fire, and have the search capability to find households with specific attributes. The platform had to meet the needs of multiple departments with users of varying degrees of GIS expertise, as well as have the ability to include new data. Webinar attendees will get to see the platform, the unique challenges in this project, and learn how to approach similar disaster recovery efforts.
